In His Grip

Women's Giuld.

The purpose of the Guild is to unite all the women of the congregation to promote the total program of the local church and to carry out the purpose of the women's work of the Peace Church which is: "to unite all the women of the church in Christian fellowship; and with divine help and guidance, to develop an understanding of the work of the entire church, deepen spiritual life, stimulate sacrificial giving and promote Christian service in the home, the local church, the community, the nation and the world."

Peace Women's Guild meets the first Wednesday of each month at 1:30 P.M. in the Fellowship Hall at Peace Church. We have Christian devotions which includes prayer, song, scripture, readings, and Bible Study. Then we hold our business meeting where we pray for people, give Guild reports, make plans of activities, and decide where donations , are to be given. We close with singing the Table Prayer and a light lunch.

Some of the activities of the Women's Guild are: serving for funerals, baking cookies for shut-ins at Christmas, exchanging names for Prayer Sisters for the year, taking valentines to the residents at Elm Crest Manor, sending greeting cards and thinking of you cards, having a Guest Day when we have a speaker and invite the community, joining with other churches for World Day Of Prayer, joining with the JOY Fellowship to serve snacks for our Lenten DVD programs, buying gifts for Mother's and Father's day, and buying turkeys for the Family Thanksgiving dimier. We give to local and world missions during the year. They are: Anchor Christian Counseling, Abused Adult Resource Center, Manchester House, Ronald McDonald House, Ruth Meier's Hospitality House, Campus Crusade, Teen Challenge, Anne Carlson Home, Friendship International, Trans World Radio, Charles Hall Home, N.D. State Hospital, and the Blanket Fund.
